Explanation: This is the reclassification of two positions and the addition of one new position in the Payroll/Personnel Division of the San Mateo County Health Center. Working with the County Manager's Office, the Controller's Office and the Employee and Public Services Department, the Health Department has determined that the staffing level of the Payroll/Personnel division of the Health Center is not sufficient to provide the necessary support as well as assure accuracy of payroll/personnel processing. In order to address the staffing shortage, one new position of Office Specialist is being added. Additionally, two other positions are being changed to more accurately reflect duties being performed. The reclassification action represents a monthly salary and benefits cost of $100 based on filling the positions at the top step in the range. The addition of the new position represents a monthly salary and benefits cost of $4206 based on filling the position at the top step in the range. The action increases the total number of authorized positions by one.
