Recommendation
Adopt an ordinance amending the salary ordinance and accept the report on the total number of positions in the County.
|
Summary
The salary ordinance changes herein represent:
· reclassifying seven positions, and
· splitting one full time position into two half time positions.
These actions were approved by the County Manager's Office.
The reclassification actions represent monthly salary and benefit cost of $2697 or annual cost of $32,364.
This amendment has been reviewed by the County Counsel's Office.

This is the deletion of one existing vacant part-time Public Health Nurse position and the addition of one full-time Communicable Disease Investigator position. This change will enable the Tuberculosis (TB) Program to better utilize existing resources and increase the number of direct patient care hours. The position will be used to provide education and necessary support to prevent contacts who have been exposed to TB from developing active disease and thereby transmitting the disease to others in the community. A nursing degree/license is not required for this work. This action represents a monthly salary and benefits cost of $1463 based on filling the position at the top step of the salary range. There is no change in the total number of authorized positions.
