RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A $50,000 INCREASE IN THE HEALTH AND FITNESS TRUST FUND APPROPRIATION TO PAY COSTS TO CONTINUE THE COUNTY'S HEAR2T PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE EPS DIRECTOR TO SIGN AN AGREMENT WITH STANFORD TO JOIN ITS STANFORD HEART NETWORK TO OFFER COUNTY EMPLOYEES A WEB-BASED CARDIOVASCULAR RISK ASSESSMENT.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the County has developed, in collaboration with Stanford's Center for Research in Disease Prevention a cardiovascular risk reduction program using a highly predictive Cardiovascular Risk Assessment; and

 

WHEREAS, Stanford has demonstrated significant reduction in cardiovascular risk factors through the program and recommends its continuation and transfer to the County at a cost of $50,000; and

 

WHEREAS, Stanford requests that the County join its Stanford Health Network to provide employees with access to its web-based Cardiovascular Risk Assessment tool; and

 

WHEREAS, the County wishes to continue a cardiovascular risk reduction program and join Stanford's Health Network as a means of identifying future high-risk individuals;

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Health and Fitness appropriation is increased by $50,000 and the EPS Director is authorized to sign an agreement with Stanford to join the Stanford Health Network.
