BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING GRANT FROM THE PACKARD FOUNDATION IN THEAMOUNT OF $35,000, AND AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL AGREEMENTS AND AMENDMENTS NECESSARY TO ENSURE SPEEDY DISBURSEMENT OF THE GRANT FUNDS ...

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the Human Services Agency, Office of Housing, has identified a need for additional funding for the seven non-profit agencies which are members of the Core Network, which include the Coastside Opportunity Center in El Granada, the Daly City Community Services Center in Daly City, the Fair Oaks Community Center in Redwood City, the Family Support Center of the Mid-Peninsula in East Palo Alto, the North Peninsula Neighborhood Services Center in South San Francisco, the Pacifica Resource Center in Pacifica, and Samaritan House in San Mateo; and;

 

WHEREAS, those non-profit core agencies provide an invaluable service to the county by meeting the needs of the county's most vulnerable residents, including assistance in the forms of food, transportation, clothing, shelter, infant needs, housing and rental assistance, utility assistance, advocacy, translations, forms assistance landlord/tenant assistance and information/referral services to needy residents of the county; and;

 

WHEREAS, the Packard Foundation has generously offered to provide a grant in the amount of $35,000, which would enable the Office of Housing to provide additional funds for the core agencies; and;

 

WHEREAS, this board wishes to accept said grant.

 

    NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors accepts said grant award for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and authorizes the County Manager to execute all necessary contracts and amendments to contracts to ensure the speedy disbursement of the grant funds.
