On October 2, 2001, the Board of Supervisors approved Resolution No. 64828 awarding a contract to Turner Construction Company in the amount of $1,037,404.00 for construction management of Phase 5C, '54 Building Remodel, of the San Mateo County Health Center Additions and Renovations Project. The County is responsible only for changes initiated by the County or caused by unforeseeable circumstances; the trade contractors or Turner are responsible for other costs.

Discussion

|
|
The contract with Turner is for construction management and design review. Under this contract, the bids of the trade contractors who will perform the construction work are assigned to Turner. The assignment is accomplished by this Revision Order and execution of the Assignment form. Trade contracts covering all construction work were advertised and bid by the County in full compliance with the Public Contract Code. Bids were received November 27, 2001, have been reviewed by the County, and are approved by this action. In one bid package, a portion of the work will be accomplished by a subcontractor not listed in the original bid and this resolution also makes the necessary findings to approve the addition of the subcontractor.

Fiscal Impact
|
|
The project is funded by the sale of Lease Revenue Bonds, 1994 Series A. Funds are available in the project account to pay for this Revision Order.
