RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges issued recommendations in 1998 setting forth guidelines for effective intervention in domestic violence and child maltreatment cases; and

 

WHEREAS, a task force of representatives from the County of San Mateo Courts, Law Enforcement, District Attorney's Office, Probation Department, Human Services Agency, Health Services Agency, San Mateo County Office of Education, Sor Juana Ines Services for Abused Women, Center for Domestic Violence Prevention, Legal Aid Society, Family Service Agency, Family and Community Enrichment Services, Inc., Child Abuse Prevention Center, and the Interfaith Network, a group of representatives from the faith community, have agreed to develop a comprehensive and coordinated service response to families affected by domestic violence and child abuse.;

 

WHEREAS, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation has granted funds of $254,955 to the Human Services Agency to plan and implement a collaborative, county-wide program that will result in interagency protocols, policies and procedures between the public and private agencies in San Mateo County that respond to families who are affected by Domestic Violence and Child Abuse;

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Director of Human Services Agency is authorized to accept a grant award from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
