Recommendation
|
Adopt a Resolution authorizing the Chief Elections Officer to render specified Election Services for the City of East Palo Alto, Redwood City Elementary School District, and the Cabrillo Unified School District in conjunction with the Gubernatorial Primary Election to be held on March 5, 2002.

Background
|
According to Elections Code §10002, the governing body of any city or district may request the Board of Supervisors of the County to permit the County Elections Official to render specified services to the city or district relating to the conduct of an election. Subject to approval of the Board of Supervisors, these services shall be performed by the Chief Elections Officer.

Discussion
|
In accordance with Education Code §§ 5304, 5322, and 15100, and Elections Code § 10002, resolutions were filed requesting the Chief Elections Officer to perform specified election services in conjunction with the Special Election to be held on June 5, 2001.
It is in order for your Honorable Board to authorize the Chief Elections Officer to render specified election services for the above districts. We respectfully request that our recommendation be approved.

Fiscal Impact
|
The City of East Palo Alto, Redwood City Elementary School District, and the Cabrillo Unified School District will pay for services performed.
