Recommendation
|
Adopt a Resolution approving the plans and specifications, accepting the lowest responsible bids received from various Trade Contractors and authorizing the Assistant County Manager to execute the assignment form assigning the Contracts to Turner Construction Co.

Approve the following Revision Order as an amendment to Turner Construction Co.'s Contract to incorporate 11 additional low bids received in November, 2001

Background
|
This Board previously approved the hiring of Turner Construction Co. as Construction Manager for the Sheriff's Forensics Laboratory and Coroner's Office. In two prior resolutions, this Board approved Revision Orders 1 and 2 pursuant to which certain bid packages could begin and thus ensure the earliest construction start date and the project's completion by the contracted date of December, 2002

Discussion
|
On November 9 and 14, 2001, bids for eleven additional Trade Contracts were received and the lowest responsible bidders are itemized below. This resolution would accept these bids, and pursuant to the contract with Turner, authorize the assignment of the contracts to Turner Construction . The Revision Order supports the assignment.

Fiscal Impact
|
The payments for these contracts are within the budget already approved for this project, which is being funded by the sale of Series A & B Lease Revenue Bonds. The following trade contracts and the low bidders constitute this Revision Order.
