RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN AGGREGATE PAYMENTS TO CONTRACTOR FOR THE ACCESSIBILITY MODIFICATIONS, ELECTION REGISTRATION BUILDING, 40 TOWER ROAD, SAN MATEO AREA (PROJECT NO. P2T06)

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors did, on June 19, 2001, adopt Resolution No. 64547, which awarded and authorized execution of a contract with Jens Hansen Company, Inc., General Contractors, for the Accessibility Modifications, Election Registration Building, 40 Tower Road, San Mateo Area;

WHEREAS, the County did enter into an Agreement with Jens Hansen Company, Inc., General Contractors, as authorized by said resolution; and

WHEREAS, paragraph 14 of the said Agreement provided that aggregate payments to Jens Hansen Company, General Contractors, Inc. shall not exceed $155,000 without this Board's approval; and

WHEREAS, it is anticipated that additional work that was not known or foreseen at the time the project was developed will increase the overall contract cost to an amount greater than was originally authorized by this Board; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that said unforeseen work be completed in conjunction with the project and this Board has considered the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that Paragraph 14 of the Agreement is hereby amended to provide that aggregate payments to Jens Hansen Company, General Contractors, Inc., for said work shall not exceed the sum of One Hundred Sixty-Six Thousand Twenty-Two Dollars ($167,000) without this Board's approval.
