RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AND SAMTRANS, FOR THE PROVISION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AND PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCH SERVICES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, SAMTRANS is the managing agency responsible for operating bus transit services throughout San Mateo County, and further is responsible for administration and contract oversight of CalTrain rail transit operations for the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board; and;

WHEREAS, SAMTRANS desires that the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and Public Safety Communications Division of Employee & Public Services respectively provide a variety of law enforcement and public safety communications services to both SAMTRANS bus and CalTrain rail operations; and;

WHEREAS, this Board finds that it is necessary and desirable that SAMTRANS and the County execute an Agreement for provision of said services, and this Board has been presented with a form of the Agreement, and has examined and approved it as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same:;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT: the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement between the County of San Mateo and SAMTRANS, for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest his signature thereto.
