Resolution Authorizing the Director of Public Works to Purchase and Install Tree Guards on Middlefield Road within the Limits of the Corridor Improvement Project from Fifth Avenue to the Atherton Town Limits, in the Redwood City Area

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, this Board authorized the Middlefield Road Improvement Project (Project) which included installation of street trees; and

WHEREAS, the Project has recently been completed; and

WHEREAS, the North Fair Oaks Council (Council) and the Director of Public Works have recommended installation of tree guards to protect the newly planted trees within the Project limits; and

WHEREAS, this Board has considered the recommendation of the North Fair Oaks Council and the Director of Public Works.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Director of Public Works is authorized to: 1) purchase tree guards and to install them along the limits of the Middlefield Road Corridor Improvement Project; and 2) use funds of County Service Area No. 8 to pay for the acquisition and installation of said tree guards, and for any subsequent maintenance or replacement of said facilities.
