RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DONATION OF VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT FOR THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE IN THE APPROXIMATE VALUE OF $302,500

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, a member of the community, who wishes to remain anonymous, wishes to donate certain vehicles and items of equipment to the Sheriff's Office for use in search and rescue, patrol and security activities; and

WHEREAS, said items include a new Farallon 3200 cruiser (value of approximately $244,000); SEA SCAN Sonar System (value of approximately $40,000); John Deer GATOR all-terrain vehicle and two pair of Night Enforcer 220 night vision binoculars (value of approximately $18,500); and

WHEREAS, the Sheriff's has need of said vehicles and equipment in the performance of statutory duties including search and rescue, patrol of unincorporated areas, crime investigation, and homeland security ;

WHEREAS, this Board has been requested by the Sheriff to accept said donations for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and finds it necessary and desirable to do so; and

WHEREAS, the County's federal tax identification number is 94-6000532, Citation: 26 US Code 170 ( c ) (1):

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED:
This Board of Supervisors hereby accepts the donation of vehicles and equipment to the Sheriff's Office, in the approximate total value of $302,500, for and on behalf County of San Mateo, and hereby offers its thanks to the donor for the generous donation towards the safety and protection of San Mateo County citizens.
