2. |
Set 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2002, in your Chambers as the time and place of a public hearing on the annexation of the Lands of Brett to the Fair Oaks Sewer Maintenance District (District). |
Key Facts |
1. |
The Redwood City/District Agreement requires the City to approve annexations into the District. Redwood City has consented to the proposed annexation. |
2. |
This Supplemental Agreement provides that the Lands of Brett will be included in the Service Area of the District. |
3. |
A public hearing to consider an annexation to the District is required pursuant to Section 5820 et seq. of the Streets & Highway Code. |
Discussion |
David C. Brett, current owner of the property located within Redwood City at 1711 East Bayshore Road and identified by Assessor's Parcel Number 054-030-190/230/250, has requested that it be annexed to the District for the purpose of receiving sewer service. |
The City of Redwood City has adopted Resolution No. 14124 consenting to the proposed annexation and a Third Supplement to the Redwood City/District Transmission Agreement once annexation is complete. |
The Public Hearing for the proposed annexation has been properly noticed and the appropriate description prepared and we are therefore recommending that the annexation be approved. |
Vision Alignment |
We believe out recommendation is consistent with the Shared Commitments to " Ensure Basic Health and Safety for All" and to be a "Responsive, Effective and Collaborative Government;" and Goal Number 7, "Maintain and Enhance the Public Safety for All Residents and Visitors," as approving the annexation will provide cost effective sanitary sewer service to a structure that would otherwise require the construction of a parallel sewer line to serve this single parcel. |
Fiscal Impact |
The property owner has paid or will pay all required fees for the parcel as follows: |
Annexation Processing Fee: $400 |
The FOSMD Connection Fees: $2,863 |
The State Board of Equalization's Recording and Mapping Fee: $350 |
Sewer Inspection Permit Fee: $50 |
Redwood City's Wastewater Capacity Fee: $1,666 |
Redwood City's Sewer Facilities Fee: $2,400 |
The property owner will be subject to the annual sewer service charge in the FOSMD (currently $188 per year), and will provide and pay for any necessary sewer main or sewer lateral needed to connect the property to the District's facilities. |
There is no impact on the County General Fund. |
A form of resolution and agreement has been approved by County Counsel |
