RESOLUTION WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE AGREEMENT WITH GRINNELL CORPORATION FOR MAINTENANCE OF THE SECURITY SYSTEMS IN THE MAGUIRE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office desires to waive the Request for Proposals process and enter into an amended agreement with the Grinnell Corporation for provision of maintenance services to the security systems in the Maguire Correctional Facility; and

WHEREAS, on June 20, 2000 the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office entered into a two-year agreement with the Grinnell Corporation; and

WHEREAS, it is the mutual desire and intent of the parties to amend the existing agreement by extending the term an additional 12 months to expire June 30, 2003 as well as increasing the contract maximum by $164,000 from $252,000 to $416,000; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such first amendment to the agreement with Grinnell Corporation and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into said amendment; and

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED the Request for Proposals process is hereby waived and the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized to execute amendment to the agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors shall attest his signature thereto.
