RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE SERVICE LEAGUE OF SAN MATEO COUNTY TO IMPLEMENT THE FATHERS LITERACY PROGRAM.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office entered into an agreement on August 7, 2001 with the Service League of San Mateo County for provision of inmate services; and

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office desires to amend the existing agreement with the Service League of San Mateo County by increasing the contract $10,000 to an amount not-to-exceed $410,730; and

WHEREAS, such amendment will provide for the implementation of the FATHERS Literacy Program in order to interrupt the cycles of both incarceration and poor literacy; and

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized to execute amendment to the agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors shall attest his signature thereto.
