RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE PRESIDENTOF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE LAW FIRM OFAKIN, GUMP, STRAUSS, HAUER & FELD, LLP

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, COUNTY ON September 18, 2001, this Board approved and entered into an agreement with the law firm of AKIN, GUMP, STRAUSS, HAUER & FELD, LLP, to assist COUNTY in the proceedings relating to San Francisco International Airport's Runway Configuration Program and other matters involving the City and County of San Francisco;

WHEREAS, it has become necessary to amend the agreement to increase the maximum amount that could be paid under its terms to $500,000;

WHEREAS, an amendment to the agreement for such services has been proposed and reviewed by this Board, which desires to enter into same; and

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute the amendment to agreement with AKIN, GUMP, STRAUSS, HAUER & FELD, LLP, on behalf of the County, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest to his signature thereto.
