RESOLUTION IMPLEMENTING AN INCENTIVE PAY PROGRAM FOR REVENUE COLLECTION STAFF

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Revenue Services Division of the Employee and Public Services Department provides collection services for County departments; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the County to maximize collection efforts of debts owed to the County; and

WHEREAS, a pay incentive program designed to provide monetary compensation to collectors and support staff who maximize collections should result in increased collections; and

WHEREAS, the costs of the incentive program are paid out of the collection fee and will not negatively impact the funds collected for departments; and

WHEREAS, this Board finds that such a pay incentive program should result in increased collections;

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED as follows:

1. The Employee and Public Services Department shall implement a collection incentive program to provide annual bonuses to collections staff if they exceeded their individual and group targets.
