RESOLUTION IMPLEMENTING AN INCENTIVE PAY PROGRAM FOR REVENUE COLLECTION STAFF |

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that |

WHEREAS, the Revenue Services Division of the Employee and Public Services Department provides collection services for County departments; and |
|
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the County to maximize collection efforts of debts owed to the County; and |
|
WHEREAS, a pay incentive program designed to provide monetary compensation to collectors and support staff who maximize collections should result in increased collections; and |
|
WHEREAS, the costs of the incentive program are paid out of the collection fee and will not negatively impact the funds collected for departments; and |
|
WHEREAS, this Board finds that such a pay incentive program should result in increased collections; |
|
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED as follows: 1. The Employee and Public Services Department shall implement a collection incentive program to provide annual bonuses to collections staff if they exceeded their individual and group targets. |
