RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH PENINSULA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR THE CHILD CARE FACILITIES EXPANSION FUND

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on May 1, 2001 the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution number 64466 which authorized the execution of an agreement with Peninsula Community Foundation for the purpose of administer funds for furnishing, equipment and start-up expenses of the new Maple Crossing Child Care Center, and ;

WHEREAS, it is the goal of San Mateo County to increase the number of licensed child care spaces in San Mateo County, and it appears that this additional funding which consists of CalWORKs incentive funds, will achieve that goal, and;

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to amend such agreement to include additional funds in the amount of one million dollars ($1,000,000) for the furnishing, equipment and start-up expenses of new and expanding child care facilities in San Mateo County, and;

WHEREAS, an amendment of such agreement has been presented to the Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance, and the Board of Supervisors has examined and approved the amendment as to both form and content, and desires to enter into the same,

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
