COMMENDING AND HONORING

   
SERGEANT PAUL BRUEMMER
   

UPON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE
DALY CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California that one of Daly City's finest, SERGEANT PAUL BRUEMMER, retired on January 5, 2002 after over 27 years of public service and

   
 

WHEREAS, on December 16, 1974, PAUL BRUEMMER began his illustrious career in law enforcement, when he joined the Daly City Police Department; and

   
 

WHEREAS, Officer PAUL BRUEMMER's dedication to the department was recognized when on December 10, 1984, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant; and

   
 

WHEREAS, during his tenure, SERGEANT PAUL BRUEMMER had various assignments, including: SWAT Co-Commander, member of the Detective Division, Patrol Supervisor for all three watches, and Instructor for drivers training and traffic collision investigations. On top of his duties, Sergeant Bruemmer was President of PPOA and a liaison for the Department; and

   
 

WHEREAS, SERGEANT PAUL BRUEMMER has received many accolades. He is the recipient of the San Mateo County Lions Club "Officer of the Year" Award and in 1984, received the coveted Oak Leaf Medal for Heroism; and

 
 

WHEREAS, SERGEANT PAUL BRUEMMER has been a role model to the men and women of his profession. He has distinguished himself for his commitment to the needs of the community and demonstrated his leadership through tireless devotion of time and talent.

 
 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, does hereby join the family, friends and colleagues of SERGEANT PAUL BRUEMMER in honoring him for his years of dedicated public service to the citizens of Daly City, with best wishes for many happy and healthy years ahead.
