FROM: |
Neil R. Cullen, Director of Public Works |
SUBJECT: |
North County Courts - Parking Lot Resurfacing Project - South San Francisco Area (County Project No. P4D00 - F271 [1A]) |
Recommendation |
Adopt a resolution adopting plans and specifications, determining prevailing wage scales, and calling for sealed proposals for the Resurfacing of North County Courts Lower Parking Lot. |
Key Facts |
The parking lot needs to be resurfaced to maintain its structural integrity. |
Discussion |
The proposed project, totaling approximately 15,200 square yards in area, consists of the repair of failed pavement areas, installation of a new concrete valley gutter, planing asphalt concrete pavement, and the resurfacing of the parking lot with asphalt concrete. The area to be resurfaced is shown on the attached map. |
This project qualifies for a Categorical Exemption pursuant to Section 15301.C of the Public Resources Code (California Environmental Quality Act [CEQA]), and a Notice of Exemption has been filed with the County Clerk Recorder as provided by County guidelines. |
Vision Alignment |
We believe our recommendation is consistent with the Shared Commitment to "Ensure Basic Health and Safety for All" and Goal Number 7 "Maintain and Enhance the Public Safety of All Residents and Visitors," as it improves the condition of the parking lot that is used by both County employees and the public. |
Fiscal Impact |
The engineer's estimate for the proposed work is $212,000. An appropriation was included for this project in the 2001-02 Capital Projects Budget, which is financed by the Courthouse Construction Funds. There is no impact to the General Fund. |
A form of resolution has been approved by County Counsel. |
