Honorable Board of Supervisors |
FROM: |
Paul T. Scannell, Assistant County Manager |
SUBJECT: |
License Renewal Agreement with the United States Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation at Pise Mountain for a Communication Site (Lease No. 5169) |
|
Recommendation |
Adopt a resolution authorizing the President of the Board of Supervisors to execute a License Renewal Agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation for a communication site at Pise Mountain. |
|
Background |
The F.B.I. has been renting space in the County's communication building at Pise Mountain under a license agreement since 1970. The Information Services Department has requested that the monthly fee be increased to coincide with the dramatic increases in the County's radio site costs. |
|
Discussion |
The original agreement was executed in February 2000, and was first amended in September 2000 to raise the monthly fee from $530 to $550. In accordance with the revised Radio Site Equipment Rate Schedule, the License Renewal Agreement increases the monthly permit fee from $550.00 to $570.00 commencing retroactively to October 1, 2002 and to $650.00 per month commencing on April 1, 2002. |
|
Vision Alignment |
The License Renewal Agreement keeps the commitment of responsive, effective and collaborative government and goal number 22: County and local governments effectively communicate, collaborate and develop strategic approaches to issues affecting the entire County. The agreement contributes to this commitment and goal since it establishes a working agreement that benefits the County of San Mateo and the F.B.I. |
|
Fiscal Impact |
The rental income generated from this permit will be deposited into the Information Services Department account. |
|
The Director of the Information Services Department concurs with our recommendation. |
