A County employee since July 1989, Dirk is the Program Specialist for the Community Right to Know Program. In this position, Dirk works closely with inspections staff to standardize procedures regulating business throughout the County. Dirk is also a member of the Haz Mat Team and has functioned in this role for the past 12 years. Dirk has always actively strived to improve the program but his efforts since September 11 have been truly commendable. The anthrax scare in October created an immediate need for training and additional equipment. Without prompting Dirk stepped forward to fill the void. Dirk is one of four technical support team members that responded to some thirty incidents in a two-week period. Dirk's calm demeanor and level headed approach coupled with his outstanding problem solving skills were a valuable asset that could be relied upon in this time of need. In addition to the above, Dirk readily volunteers for additional assignments and has been an active officer in the Peninsula Emergency Services Association for the past three years. Dirk's steadfast determination and reliability over the years have contributed to the success of the Emergency Response Program. Our County is fortunate to have Dirk Jensen as one of its outstanding employees. |
