RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BOARD PRESIDENT TO REQUEST THAT SAN MATEO COUNTY BE ADMITTED TO MULTI-AGENCY TASK FORCE CONSIDERING THE PROPOSED RUNWAY EXPANSION PROJECT

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS the Airport Subcommittee of this Board has presented for consideration a report regarding the proposal to expand the runways at San Francisco International Airport (ASFO@);

WHEREAS, pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding, SFO has constituted a Multi-Agency Task Force comprised of agencies with approval authority over the proposed runway expansion project, to study, address, and share information regarding matters of common concern related to the project;

WHEREAS, this Board has determined that the County, which has a significant approval role with respect to the runway expansion, and which shares many common concerns with agencies that are presently members of the Multi-Agency Task Force, should request membership in the Multi-Agency Task Force;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, to write to the SFO Airport Director to request that SFO amend the Multi-Agency Task Force Memorandum of Understanding to provide for San Mateo County=s membership.
