FROM: |
Paul T. Scannell, Assistant County Manager |
SUBJECT: |
Second Amendment To Lease with Famiat Enterprises for the Lease of a North County Branch Office of the Agricultural Commissioner (Lease No. 1228) |
|
Recommendation |
Adopt a Resolution authorizing the President of the Board of Supervisors to execute a Second Amendment To Lease to extend the term and increase the monthly rent for the North County Branch Office of the Agricultural Commissioner. |
|
Background |
Since March of 1999 the Agricultural Commissioner has occupied a portion of the office at 131 Terminal Court in South San Francisco. |
|
Discussion |
A Second Amendment To Lease has been negotiated with Famiat Enterprises to extend the term for an additional one year period through December 31, 2002. Commencing retroactively to January 1, 2002 the rent will increase by 4% from $375 to $390 per month, which is considered to be fair market value.
The Director of Public Works concurs with this recommendation. County Counsel has reviewed and approved the Second Amendment as to form. |
|
Vision Alignment |
The Second Amendment To Lease keeps the commitment of responsive, effective and collaborative government and goal number 20: Government decisions are based on careful consideration of future impact, rather than temporary relief or immediate gain. The agreement contributes to this commitment and goal since it establishes a working agreement with benefits to the County of San Mateo and Famiat Enterprises. |
|
Fiscal Impact |
Funds have been budgeted for the increase in rent. |
