Resolution Authorizing Execution of the First Amendment to the Franchise Agreement between the County of San Mateo and BFI Waste Systems of North America, Inc. for Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials and Plant Materials Collection Services

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, that certain franchise agreement entitled, Franchise Agreement between the County of San Mateo and BFI Waste Systems of North America, Inc. for Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials and Plant Materials Collection Services was approved by the County of San Mateo on February 8, 2000; and

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo previously approved changing the designated spring and fall clean-up days described in said Franchise Agreement to on-call cleanups; and

WHEREAS, the South Bayside Waste Management Authority, of which the County of San Mateo is a member agency, recommends that all member agencies of the Authority approve the First Amendment to the Franchise Agreement delineating said service change; and this Board of Supervisors concurs in that recommendation.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute the First Amendment to the Franchise Agreement between the County of San Mateo and BFI Waste Systems of North America, Inc., for Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials and Plant Materials Collection Services for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, as the governing board for County Service Area No. 8, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest to the President's signature thereto.
