Resolution Authorizing an Increase in Aggregate Payments to the Contractor for Reconstruction of Manzanita Avenue and Portions of Oakley Avenue and Camino A Los Cerros - West Menlo Park Area (Project No. R3S03, R4Y03-F36[324A])

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors did, on June 5, 2001, adopt Resolution No. 64503, for the award and authorized execution of a contract with Interstate Grading and Paving, Inc., for the Reconstruction of Manzanita Avenue and portions of Oakley Avenue and Camino A Los Cerros in the West Menlo Park area; and

 

WHEREAS, the County did enter into an Agreement with Interstate Grading and Paving, Inc., as authorized by said Resolution; and

 

WHEREAS, the Agreement provides that aggregate payments to Interstate Grading and Paving, Inc., shall not exceed $602,000 without this Board's approval; and

 

WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the changes in the project will increase the overall contract cost to an amount greater than was originally authorized by this Board; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works had recommended that the not to exceed figure as originally approved by this Board be increased to provide for unanticipated work; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has considered the recommendation of the Director of Public Works;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED as follows:

 

1.

The Agreement with Interstate Grading and Paving, Inc., entered into on June 5, 2001, is hereby amended to provide that aggregate payments to Interstate Grading and Paving, Inc., for said work shall not exceed the sum of Six Hundred Twenty-Two Thousand Dollars ($622,000) without this Board's approval.

 

2.

That, with exception of the modification as herein provided, the Agreement with Interstate Grading and Paving, Inc., entered into on June 5, 2001 shall remain unchanged.
