RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION
FROM THE SAN MATEO COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION FOUNDATION
IN THE AMOUNT OF $146,300

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Parks Foundation has raised $146,300 in donations for landscaping improvements at Coyote Point Park; a new Ranger Station for Crystal Springs Trail; an environmental education program for Edgewood Park and Preserve; roof repairs and seismic upgrades for Sanchez Adobe; a memorial bench for Wunderlich Park; recycling containers for various parks, outreach and event activities for Earth Day Fair 2002; and a Global Positioning System device for use by the Trails Advisory Committee; and;

 

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo recognizes the need for funding of these projects and programs at various parks throughout the system; and;

 

WHEREAS, San Mateo County policies require the Board of Supervisors approval through a resolution to accept donations in excess of $2,500;

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors by adoption of this resolution hereby approves the acceptance of the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Foundation donation for landscaping improvements at Coyote Point Park in the amount of $1,000; a new Ranger Station for Crystal Springs Trail in the amount of $55,000; an environmental education program for Edgewood Park and Preserve in the amount of $23,000; roof repairs and seismic upgrades for Sanchez Adobe in the amount of $44,500; a memorial bench for Wunderlich Park in the amount of $3,200; recycling containers for various parks in the amount of $16,000; outreach and event activities for Earth Day Fair 2002 in the amount of $3,100; and a Global Positioning System device for use by the Trails Advisory Committee donated in-kind with a value of $500; and

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Director of the Environmental Services Agency of the County of San Mateo accept the funds, use the aforementioned funds for the specified projects and execute any agreements or other documents related to the donation and subject projects.
