Honorable Board of Supervisors |
FROM: |
Paul T. Scannell, Assistant County Manager |
SUBJECT: |
Property Tax Exchange - City of San Carlos |
|
|
Recommendation |
Approve a resolution authorizing a property tax exchange between San Mateo County and the City of San Carlos for the proposed reorganization of the Lands of Trotta, Grove and Webb. |
|
Discussion |
We have received from LAFCo the proposed annexation of the Lands of Trotta, Grove and Webb to the City of San Carlos. The annexation is dependent upon the county and the City agreeing to the amount of property tax that will be transferred. An agreement has been reached with the City and a resolution is presented for your approval. |
|
Vision Alignment |
This resolution keeps the commitment of responsive, effective and collaborative government and contributes to goal number 20, by basing the decision on careful consideration of future impact, rather than temporary relief or immediate gain and goal number 22 by collaborating with San Carlos on strategic issues. |
|
Fiscal Impact |
The total amount of taxes available for exchange before the ERAF shift between the two agencies is $4,897. The City will receive approximately $1,959 and the County will retain approximately $2,938. |
