RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY TO OBTAIN LIVESCAN EQUIPMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACCESSING STATE AND LOCAL CRIMINAL HISTORY INFORMATION FOR PROPOSED RELATIVE CARETAKERS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that the San Mateo County Human Services Agency is authorized to obtain Livescan equipment for the purpose of accessing state and local criminal history information for proposed relative caretakers

WHEREAS, Social Workers of the San Mateo County Human Services Agency are required to access state and local criminal history information for the purpose of evaluating proposed relative caretakers of children removed from their parents homes; and

WHEREAS, Penal Code Sections 11105(b)(10) and 13300(b)(10) authorize county agencies to access state and local summary criminal history information; and

WHEREAS, Penal Code Sections 11105(b)(10) and 13300(b)(10) require the county Board of Supervisors to specifically authorize access to summary criminal history information;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Human Services Agency is authorized to obtain Livescan equipment for the purpose of accessing state and local criminal history information for proposed relative caretakers.
