Resolution Approving an Increase in the Transit Subsidy for the Commute Alternatives Program

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Measure A, Half Cent Sales Tax Program provides funding to implement programs that encourage employees to use other than the single occupant vehicle to commute to and from work; and

WHEREAS, this Board implemented a transit pass subsidy program to encourage County employees to use public transit; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that the transit subsidy be increased to $75 per month and this Board has considered the Director's recommendation.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the transit pass subsidy shall be increased to a maximum of $75 per month per employee, and said subsidy shall be in effect for transit tickets purchased for the month of October, 2002, and for subsequent months until said subsidy is changed by resolution of this Board.
