Resolution Consenting to Redefining the Beginning and End of the South Bayside Waste Management Authority's Fiscal Year

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement (JPA) for the South Bayside Waste Management Authority (SBWMA), a joint powers authority of which the County of San Mateo is a member jurisdiction, was entered into on December 9, 1999; and

WHEREAS, the SBWMA staff has recommended that member jurisdictions of the SBWMA amend the JPA to change the definition of "Fiscal Year" from "the period commencing on each October 1 and ending on the following September 30" to "the period commencing on each July 1 and ending on the following June 30."; and

WHEREAS, this Board has considered the recommendation of the SBWMA staff.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that this Board of Supervisors consents to changing the definition of "Fiscal Year" contained in the Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement of the SBWMA to "the period commencing on each July 1 and ending on the following June 30."
