RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF ELECTIONS OFFICER

TO RENDER SPECIFIED ELECTION SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF BELMONT,

CITY OF DALY CITY, TOWN OF HILLSBOROUGH, THE HILLSBOROUGH CITY

SCHOOL DISTRICT, THE PENINSULA HEALTH CARE DISTRICT, THE SEQUOIA

HEALTHCARE DISTRICT, THE MIDPENINSULA REGIONAL OPEN SPACE

DISTRICT, AND THE MENLO PARK FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT

IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE GUBERNATORIAL GENERAL ELECTION

TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2002

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City of Belmont adopted Resolution Nos.9240 and 9241 calling for a special election for the office of City Clerk to the voters of the City of Belmont; and;

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Town of Hillsborough adopted Resolution No.s 02-50, 02-51, and 02-52 calling for a general municipal election for the office of Town Council to the voters of the Town of Hillsborough; and;

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, and California Elections Code, the Governing Body of the Hillsborough City School District adopted Resolution No. 2002-13 calling for the submission of a general obligation school bond measure to the voters of the Hillsborough City School District; and;

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Governing Body of the Sequoia Healthcare District adopted Resolution No. 02-4 calling for the general election for the office of Director to the voters of the Sequoia Healthcare District; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Governing Body of the Menlo Park Fire Protection District adopted Resolution No. 994 calling for the submission of an ordinance measure to increase the appropriations limit to the voters of the Menlo Park Fire Protection District; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the Governing Body of the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District adopted Resolution Nos. 02-22 and 02-23 calling for the general election for the office of Director in Wards 5 and 6 to the voters of the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District; and

WHEREAS, the Chief Elections Officer has been asked to perform certain services in conjunction with these elections; and

WHEREAS, the Chief Elections Officer is agreeable to providing these election services to the Cities and Districts; and

WHEREAS, in consideration of services and supplies provided by the Chief Elections Officer, the City of Belmont, City of Daly City, Town of Hillsborough, the Hillsborough City School District, the Peninsula Health Care District, the Sequoia Healthcare District, the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, and the Menlo Park Fire Protection District will reimburse the County for the costs of these services and supplies.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the President of this Board of Supervisors authorizes the Chief Elections Officer to render specified election services for the November 5, 2002 Gubernatorial General Election.
