Sublease Agreement with Ray Vernazza for Parking for the Human Services Agency Office/Peninsula Works (Sublease No. 1255)

 

Recommendation

Adopt a Resolution authorizing the President of the Board of Supervisors to execute a Sublease Agreement with Ray Vernazza for additional parking for the Human Services Agency's Peninsula Works office at 550 Quarry Road, San Carlos.

 

Background

The Human Services Agency has occupied a portion of the building located at 550 Quarry Road, San Carlos since 1984. Due to the increasing number of clients at this site, parking has become difficult for both employees and clients. The Sublease Agreement provides for an additional twenty-(20) parking spaces which would alleviate the current parking problems.

 

Discussion

A Sublease Agreement has been negotiated for an additional twenty (20) parking spaces for a monthly fee of $900 commencing retroactively to February 1, 2002 and shall continue on a month to month basis until terminated by either party. County Counsel has reviewed the Sublease Agreement as to form. The Director of the Human Services Agency concurs in our recommendation.

 

Vision Alignment

The Sublease Agreement keeps the commitment of responsive, effective and collaborative government and goal number 20: Government decisions are based on careful consideration of future impact, rather than temporary relief or immediate gain. The Sublease Agreement contributes to this commitment and goal by providing additional parking to the clients and employees at this site.

 

Fiscal Impact

The Human Services Agency has sufficient funds available for the current fiscal year.
