RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF

AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA

WATER RESOURCES CONTROL BOARD FOR REIMBURSEMENT

OF PILARCITOS CREEK PROJECT

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, Governor Gray Davis signed the Budget Act of 2001 providing for Proposition 13 Coastal Nonpoint Source Program Grants to be made available to fund 38 Clean Beaches Initiative (CBI) Projects; and

WHEREAS, San Mateo County Environmental Health Services Division submitted a proposal for a project, to locate and remove fecal sources of contamination from Pilarcitos Creek that was selected by legislators for funding not to exceed $175,000; and

WHEREAS, the State of California has submitted an Agreement to San Mateo County Health Services Agency under which the County will be reimbursed for up to $175,000 for expenditures in carrying out the Pilarcitos Creek portion of this project; and

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors shall enter into an agreement with the State of California Water Resources Board and that the Director of the Health Services Agency, or her designee, in relation to this Grant, is authorized to certify that the Health Services Agency has and will comply with all state statutory requirements related to state grant funds received, to negotiate contracts and any amendments, to certify grant invoices, and to receive reimbursements from the State of California for expenditures on behalf of San Mateo County.
