RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO TWO AGREEMENTS WITH THE CITY OF EAST PALO ALTO TO TRANSFER FUNDS FROM THE BELL STREET COMMUNITY CENTER PROJECT TO THE

PARK IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo and the City of East Palo Alto entered into an Agreement dated December 15, 1998 which, together with subsequent amendments provided a total of $1,205,000 of Community Development Block Grant funds to assist the City with renovations and improvements to Martin Luther King, Jr. Park and Jack Ferrell Park; and

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo and the City of East Palo Alto entered into an Agreement dated April 4, 1994, which together with subsequent amendments provided a total of $2,073,122 of Community Development Block Grant funds to assist the City with renovations and improvements to the Bell Street Community Center; and

WHEREAS, the City desires to reduce the scope of work on the Community Center project and increase the scope of work on the Park Improvements project, specifically in Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, transferring $611,582.58 from the Community Center Project to the Park Improvements Project; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance, two amendments to Agreements between the County of San Mateo and the City of East Palo Alto, reference to which are hereby made for further particulars, and the Board of Supervisors has examined and approved the same as to form and content and desires to enter into the same;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said amendments to Agreements for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
