RESOLUTION 608-C APPROVING APPLICATIONS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR OPERATING SUBSIDY FOR THE FISCAL YEARS ENDING JUNE 30, 2002 AND JUNE 30, 2003, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (DIRECTOR OF THE OFFICE OF HOUSING) AND THE MANAGER OF HOUSING OPERATIONS TO FILE ANY DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATIONS |

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors sitting as the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo, State of California; that |

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority owns and operates a public housing development known as Midway Village which has undergone several rounds of remediation of toxic soil under the jurisdiction of the State of California Department of Toxic Substances Control; and |
|
WHEREAS, the development has suffered significant losses of rental income during Fiscal Years ending June 30, 2002 and June 30, 2003 caused by the need to keep units vacant to facilitate the remediation efforts; and |
|
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority may be eligible to apply for special funding from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development to offset a portion of the lost rental income; and |
|
WHEREAS, this Board has reviewed the applications and found them acceptable and in conformance with existing regulations. |
|
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the application for Operating Subsidy are approved, and that the Executive Director (Director of the Office of Housing) and the Manager of Housing Operations are authorized to sign any documents required by this United States Department of Housing & Urban Development to complete the application process. |
