RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A THIRD AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AND OPPORTUNITIES INDUSTRIALIZATION CENTER-WEST (OICW) FOR THE PROVISIONS OF WORK FIRST AND ONE-STOP CAREER CENTER SERVICES FOR PY 2002-03

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, on July 25, 2000, by Resolution Number 63818, the Board of Supervisors authorized execution of an Agreement with Opportunities Industrialization Center-West (OICW) to provide Work First structured job search workshops and network activities and One-Stop Career Center services to Workforce Investment Act eligible participants; and

 

WHEREAS, on November 28, 2000, by Resolution Number 64116, the Board of Supervisors authorized a First Amendment to the Agreement with OICW to provide comprehensive year-round youth programs; and

 

WHEREAS, on January 8, 2002, by Resolution Number 65005, the Board of Supervisors authorized a Second Amendment to the Agreement with OICW to reduce the One-Stop Career Center services budget by $131,012, to support the expansion of the PeninsulaWorks One-Stop system; and

 

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo and OICW desire to enter into a Third Amendment to the Agreement to continue to provide Jobs Now (formerly Work First) structured job search workshops and network activities and One-Stop Career Center services to Workforce Investment Act eligible participants during PY 2002-03; and

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for it consideration and acceptance a Third Amendment, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby services will be provided by OICW and the amount of the Amendment shall be $259,744 for a total contract obligation of $2,224,504; and

 

WHEREAS, such services will conform to all WIA requirements; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such amendment and said Board has examined and approved same as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same;

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Third Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest his signature thereto.
