RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONTROLLER TO CONTINUE PAYMENTS TO PENINSULA LIBRARY SYSTEM COMMUNITY INFORMATION PROGRAM FROM OCTOBER 1, 2002 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2002

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Agreement with the Peninsula Library System Community Information Program (CIP) expired on June 30, 2002 and a renewal Agreement has not been completed due to the uncertainty of the Human Services Agency's budget; and

WHEREAS, on June 18, 2002, the Board of Supervisors adopted a Resolution authorizing the Controller to make payments to CIP through September 30, 2002; and

WHEREAS, the renewal Agreement will not be completed when the authorizing Resolution expires due to continuing uncertainty of the Human Services Agency's budget; and

WHEREAS, the information that CIP maintains and makes available is essential for all who work in San Mateo County; and

WHEREAS, this Board wishes to continue payments to CIP.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors authorizes the Controller to make an additional quarterly payment in the amount of $57,631 for services provided between October 1, 2002 and December 31, 2002, for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, subject to the Contractor's compliance with all terms and conditions of its most recent Agreement with the County.
