Resolution Discharging The Sheriff of San Mateo County From Accountability for Collection of Delinquent Accounts from Former participants in the Sheriff's Work Program (SWP)

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office has incurred delinquent accounts receivable in the amount of $5,972.00 and all reasonable effort has been made by the Sheriff's Office to collect the delinquent accounts;

 

WHEREAS, the Government Code Section 25257 et seq. Provides for discharge of accountability for money owing to the County if the amount is too small or the likelihood of collection does not warrant the expense involved;

 

WHEREAS, the cost of collecting these delinquent accounts has exceeded the revenue collected and any further effort to attempt collection would not be cost effective; and

 

    NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED

    1. That the Board of Supervisors shall, and does hereby relieve the Sheriff from accountability for delinquent accounts as more particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto;

    2. That the clerk of this Board be and is hereby authorized and directed to send a copy of this Resolution to the County Controller.
