Continuation of Contracts

Recommendation

Adopt a resolution authorizing the Controller to continue payments on contracts from September 30, 2002 through December 31, 2002.

Background

San Mateo Medical Center has a number of contracts for services that expire on or before September 30, 2002 and are pending completion. These contracts, listed on Attachment A, will be brought to you for renewal or extension within the next three months.

To ensure continued provision of services during this period, it is necessary to authorize the Controller to continue to make payments to these contractors at the existing rates through December 31, 2002. This resolution allows contractors to meet their commitments in a timely fashion and will allow the division time needed to complete negotiations. This resolution requires that all terms and conditions of the existing agreements be met.

Vision Alignment

This Resolution keeps the commitment to Ensure Basic Health and Safety for All and goal number 5: Provide residents access to healthcare and preventive care. This resolution contributes to this commitment and goal by continuing to provide medical services to county patients.

Fiscal Impact

Funds for the annual cost of all contracts have been included in the San Mateo Medical Center's FY 2002-03 Adopted Budget.
