RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY AND THE FRIENDS OF HUDDART AND WUNDERLICH PARKS TO ALLOW FRIENDS TO CONTRACT FOR PRE-CONSTRUCTION SERVICES TO ASSESS RESTORATION FEASIBILITY OF THE WUNDERLICH PARK FOLGER ESTATE STABLE AND FOR OTHER CONSTRUCTION SERVICES AND ACCEPTANCE OF IN-KIND DONATION OF SERVICES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the Friends of Wunderlich and Huddart Parks (Friends) have offered to donate to the County funding and services in the estimated amount of $128,780 that they will use to contract for 1) pre-construction services to assess restoration feasibility of the Wunderlich Park Folger Estate Stable; 2) the application of rolled roofing to the east end of the Folger Estate Stable; and 3) minor upgrades to space in a separate Wunderlich Park structure commonly known as the Carriage House for office and storage use by County staff and the Friends to perform work benefiting County Parks; and

 

WHEREAS, the Friends are willing to enter into an Agreement with the County abiding by which they shall contract and pay for said pre-construction and construction services; and

 

WHEREAS, the work as proposed is mutually beneficial to the County and Friends; and

 

WHEREAS, Government Code Section 25355 provides that the Board may accept any gift, bequest or devise on behalf of the County.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors by adoption of this resolution hereby approves the Agreement allowing the Friends of Huddart and Wunderlich Parks to fund and contract for pre-construction and construction services at Wunderlich Park; and

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Director of Environmental Services Agency be authorized to execute said Agreement on behalf of the County of San Mateo.
