RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DONATION TO THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE SPECIAL WEAPONS AND TACTICS (SWAT) TEAM

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, a member of the community, who wishes to remain anonymous, wishes to donate several new pieces of equipment and related supplies to the Sheriff's Office SWAT Team; and

WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office SWAT Team has a need of said equipment in order to respond to situations that are beyond the capabilities of normally equipped law enforcement personnel; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been requested by the Sheriff to accept said donation for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and finds it necessary and desirable to do so; and

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED:

This Board of Supervisors hereby accepts said donation to the Sheriff's Office SWAT Team, in the approximate total value of $50,194.52, for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and hereby offers its thanks to the donor for the generous donation towards the safety and protection of San Mateo County citizens.
