RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF PROPOSITION 49 RELATING TO THE BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo, using county general fund moneys has funded and continues to fund after school programs in San Mateo County;

WHEREAS, Proposition 49 would increase state grant funds available for before and after school programs, educational enrichment and other similar purposes;

WHEREAS, the County has a commitment to work with other community leaders across boundaries to preserve and enhance the County's quality of life and to promote regional solutions in childcare and education; and

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors by the adoption of this resolution hereby supports Proposition 49 and urges its passage by the voters of California.
