TO: |
Honorable Board of Supervisors |
FROM: |
Paul T. Scannell, Assistant County Manager |
SUBJECT: |
Property Tax Exchange - Town of Woodside |
|
Recommendation |
Approve a resolution authorizing a property tax exchange between San Mateo County and Town of Woodside for the proposed annexation of Greenways and Ward Way. |
|
Background |
We have received from LAFCo the proposed annexation of Greenways and Ward Way to the Town of Woodside. The annexation is dependent upon the County and the Town agreeing to the amount of property tax that will be transferred.
An agreement has been reached with the Town and a resolution is presented for your approval. The agreement is in accordance with the Board's policy of granting a city an amount of property tax that approximates the current average share of property tax of the city of the proposed annexation. |
|
Vision Alignment |
This resolution keeps the commitment of responsive, effective and collaborative government and contributes to goal number 20, by basing the decision on careful consideration of future impact, rather than temporary relief or immediate gain and goal number 22 by collaborating with Woodside on strategic issues. |
|
Fiscal Impact |
The total amount of taxes now coming to the County and available for exchange before the ERAF shift between the two agencies is $63,450. The Town will receive approximately $13, 708 and the County will retain approximately $49,742. |
