RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AREA OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES (OES) COORDINATOR OR HIS DESIGNEE TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES THROUGH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, OFFICE OF JUSTICE PROGRAMS FOR ADMINISTRATION OF GRANT AWARDS TO PURCHASE DOMESTIC PREPAREDNESS EQUIPMENT AND TO EXECUTE THE GRANT AGREEMENT AND ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS REQUIRED BY AND FOR THE PROGRAM AS DESCRIBED

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, OES wishes to apply to State OES for Grant Funding to enable Local Agencies to obtain Domestic Preparedness Equipment.

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Area Office of Emergency Services will serve as the administrator for the grant award received by the State of California through DOJ, OJP for the purchase of personal protection, detection, decontamination, and communication equipment. This grant shall not exceed two hundred thirty-four thousand, eight hundred dollars ($234,800).

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors authorizes the application for a grant to purchase domestic preparedness equipment in the amount of $234,800; and that the President of the Board shall execute the Certification necessary to complete the application; and

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Area OES Coordinator or his designee shall familiarize himself with the assurances and certifications in the application, and assure the County's ability to comply with and conduct all negotiations, and execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to the application, the grant agreement, amendments, payment requests, and other documents that may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned program.
