2 |
Authorizing the Director of Health Services to make changes and minor modifications to the Agreement not to exceed $25,000. |
Background |
On November 6, 2001 your Board approved a second year of funding for the CPR Project which continues to train freshmen at the five high schools in the Sequoia Union High School District. The program is administered by Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The term of that agreement was July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002. The amount of the agreement was $45,000. |
Discussion |
This CPR Project now includes the five high schools in the Sequoia Union High School District and Westmoor High School in Daly City. The grant funding was not fully utilized during FY 2001-02 because of delays in getting the schools to schedule the training, and is now available for use in 2002-03. |
Extending the term of the Agreement through June 2003 will permit additional students to receive the training during the Fall 2002 and Spring 2003 semesters. |
Vision Alignment |
The contract with the State Emergency Medical Services Authority keeps the commitment of leaders work together across boundaries to preserve and enhance our quality of life and accomplishes goal number 24: Residents accept individual responsibility for contributing to the quality life of the County as a whole. This agreement does this by providing the CPR training to adolescents to possibly save a life. |
Fiscal Impact |
The term of this agreement is amended to July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2003. The total amount of the agreement, $45,000, remains unchanged. $17,960 was included in the revenue estimates and appropriation of the EMS Program's FY 2002/03 budget. |
