Background

On December 4, 2001, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution number 64928, which authorized the Human Services Agency Director to execute an Agreement and future Amendments with the State of California, Department of Rehabilitation.

The Agreement with the State of California, Department of Rehabilitation provides situational assessment, work adjustment, employment preparation, job development and placement services for County Mental Health consumers who are served jointly by the Human Services Agency and the State Department of Rehabilitation.

Discussion

Resolution number 64928 showed the term of the Agreement with the State of California, Department of Rehabilitation to be from July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002. The Agreement with the State of California, Department of Rehabilitation keeps the commitment of: Creating opportunities for every household to participate in our prosperity and goal number 17: All households experience real gains in income. The Agreement with the State of California, Department of Rehabilitation contributes to this commitment and goal by providing employment training and career growth for Mental Health consumers in San Mateo County.

Fiscal Impact

The Agreement with the State of California Department of Rehabilitation is in the amount of $652,703 and for the term of July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2004. This amount is funded to the County for Employment Services for Mental Health consumers. There is no Net County Cost.
