Resolution Authorizing an Increase in Aggregate Payments to the Contractor for Accessibility Modifications, Probation Department, 1024 Old Mission Road, South San Francisco (Project No. P2T08)

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors did, on Tuesday, May 21, 2002, adopt Resolution No. 65291, which Resolution awarded and authorized execution of a contract with Jens Hansen Company, Inc., for accessibility modifications at the Probation Department facilities in South San Francisco; and

 

WHEREAS, County did enter into an agreement with Jens Hansen Company, Inc. as authorized by said Resolution; and

 

WHEREAS, paragraph 14 of said agreement provides that aggregate payments to Jens Hansen Company, Inc. shall not exceed $110,000 without this Board's approval; and

 

WHEREAS, additional work to complete the project is required because of concealed conditions and design revisions; and

 

WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the changes in the project will increase the overall cost to an amount greater than was originally authorized by this Board.

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that the "Not-to-Exceed" figure as originally approved by this Board be increased to provide for said additional work; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has considered the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED as follows:

 

1.

    That paragraph 14 of the agreement is hereby amended to provide that aggregate payments to Jens Hansen Company, Inc., for said work shall not exceed the sum of One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($115,000) without this Board's approval.

 

2.

    That, with the exception of modification as herein provided, the agreement with Jens Hansen Company, Inc. entered into on May 21, 2002, shall remain unchanged.
