Resolution Authorizing Approval of Agreements for Janitorial Services at Various County Facilities

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors did, on November 12, 2002, adopt Resolution No. 65682, which Resolution adopted the specifications, and called for sealed proposals for providing janitorial services at various County facilities; and

WHEREAS, the Clerk of this Board did, in public on December 10, 2002, open and examine all sealed proposals that were received in the specified time for the doing of the work referred to in said Resolution No. 65682; and

WHEREAS, this Board has caused an analysis of said sealed proposals to be made by the Director of Public Works of the County of San Mateo, and has, in open session, fully reviewed and considered said sealed proposals and the analysis thereof; and

WHEREAS, this Board has determined that the lowest bid for janitorial services for Area I. facilities as described in said specifications, was submitted by Cal Facilities Management Company; and the lowest bids for Areas II., III., and IV facilities as described in said specifications, were submitted by Commercial Custodial Services, Inc.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

It is to the best interest of the County of San Mateo to enter into agreements for providing janitorial services at various County facilities with:

a)

Cal Facilities Management Company

San Jose, CA 95130

for Area I. facilities as said facilities are described in the Specifications for said work; and

b)

Commercial Custodial Services, Inc.

1097 Memorex Drive

Santa Clara, CA 95050

for Areas II., III., and IV. facilities as said facilities are described in the Specifications for said work.

The County of San Mateo shall enter into a written agreement with Cal Facilities Management Company and Commercial Custodial Services, Inc, for the doing of said work as required by the Specifications therefore adopted and approved by this Board, as hereinbefore mentioned, said Specifications being on file in the office of the Director of Public Works of the County of San Mateo.

The Director of Public Works shall be, and is hereby, authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, to enter into said written agreement with Cal Facilities Management Company and Commercial Custodial Services, Inc, for doing of said work, as hereinbefore mentioned and to receive and approve the Faithful Performance Surety Bonds required to be posted by the said Contractors with the County of San Mateo in connection therewith.

All payments to the Contractors be in accordance with the Specifications, and other documents, based on the Director of Public Works' written estimates of work actually done.

Paragraph 4 above notwithstanding, combined aggregate payments to the contractors shall not exceed the sum of Four Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand, Five Hundred Forty-Six and 72/100 Dollars ($475,546.72) without the Director of Public Works' prior approval.

6.

The Director of Public Works is authorized to extend the agreements for an additional year and to authorize payment for said work for an additional year pursuant to the terms and conditions as described in the Specifications.
