Resolution authorizing the Chief Elections Officer to render specified election services for the City of Belmont in conjunction with a special election to be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2003.

 

Recommendation

Adopt a resolution authorizing the Chief Elections Officer to render specified election services for the City of Belmont in conjunction with a special election to be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2003.

 

Background

According to Elections Code §10002, the governing body of any city or district may request the Board of Supervisors of the County to permit the County Elections Official to render specified services to the city or district relating to the conduct of an election. Subject to approval of the Board of Supervisors, these services shall be performed by the Chief Elections Officer.

 

Discussion

In accordance with state law, a resolution was filed by the City of Belmont requesting the Chief Elections Officer to perform specified election services in conjunction with a special election to be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2003.

 

It is in order for your Honorable Board to authorize the Chief Elections Officer to render specified election services for the above city. We respectfully request that our recommendation be approved.

Fiscal Impact

There is no Net County Cost. The City of Belmont will pay for services performed.
